decorating

yesterday and today i have been painting the kitchen! yesterday i did the ceiling, and today i did 2 coats on the walls. i hope that was enough for the walls, becose we dont have enough paint to put a 3rd on every wall. but there's enough to touch up in places if it needs. it looks a little uneven in spots, but i will have to wait for it to dry to see. i chose 'crab shell' as the wall colour, and depending on which wall you look at and the light, it's a pinky-peachy-beige colour. it's a little bit darker than i wanted, and i thought about mixing it with white, but didnt. it's okay though. :) it isnt any darker than the almond colour in the main room. they are actually very similar! but the main room is a silk emulsion, and the kitchen is a matt emulsion that is textured like sand. i really like the texture. it's unusual and it's like a beach hut. hehehe.
 
if the walls are fine tomorrow, then i will hang the blinds, and put things back. i still need to paint the woodwork and windowsills, but that will be next weekend, i think. i dont think we have time tomorrow. the windowsills will contrast in texture with the walls, becose i will gloss them like the woodwork, but then i am puting a mother-of-pearl top coat on to give it a pretty sheen. :) then the windowsills will hold glass bottles and jars, stones, and my orange tree. we have 2 windows in the kitchen facing east and south, so it gets a lot of light.
 
we will order pizza for dinner now, just like yesterday! becose it's not nice to cook in a wet-walled kitchen, and everything isnt in place, and the cooker is on the middle of the room. and also becose i just love pizza and i deserve it! the bigs did help, espicially with moving things and the high bits, but relly it was all my job. becose it's my kitchen! hehehe i like saying that. :) i have my own kitchen! there should be a sign saying "samanthas kitchen" on the door. hehehe.
